Quotidian Menology
This short film features selected vignettes from an open source archive of footage from Lady Bird Johnson’s Home Movies. The film explores the aesthetic formal relationships found among the footage, but also examines how technology mediates our relationship to time, memory, and history. The score is an original piano composition written and performed by the artist, which further explores ideas related to iteration, cycles of time, and repetition.
The work was accepted to a juried exhibition of digital work as part of The Cube Art Project (the third competition), juried by Sean Capone. The work was shown June–October 2018 on a large public screen in Lincoln, Nebraska.
